Testing the biofilter lids in the Burgenland district
We are delighted with the very positive results of a test of our bio-filter lid with around 200 citizens in the Burgenland district. 168 citizens took the time to complete the survey. The results are impressive and we were able to help some of the citizens who still had maggots in their garbage cans despite the filter lid and whom we were able to contact, to get through the rest of the summer maggot-free with appropriate tips. We were able to reduce the odor nuisance from 55% to just 4% in the test. We were able to reduce maggots and pests from just under 62% to 27%. And, as already mentioned, there is still room for improvement here: Fly eggs are often placed in the organic waste garbage can with animal feed or food scraps that have been left open for a long time. Sealing this material tightly in a paper bag will ensure that citizens are completely maggot-free throughout the summer. The bio-filter lid consistently prevents flies from subsequently entering to lay their eggs.
